The General Assembly spent most of their time this week in committee meetings but did move several bills on the floor. The Ways and Means version of the budget will be debated on the House floor beginning the week of March 22nd. There are several bills of interest this week that will be discussed below.

It is expected that President Biden will sign the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 on Friday, March 12, 2021. This Act is the federal comprehensive response to both the public health and economic crises facing our country because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Included in the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund created by the Act is $65.1 billion in direct funding to county governments.
