Webcasts and Webinars

Webcasts include live streaming video of the presenter and allow for people to email questions to sccounties@gmail.com. They are intended to be viewed as part of an audience gathered at a satellite location.

A webinar is a web-based seminar hosted in real-time which allows attendees in remote locations to view, listen, and participate in the same conference using a personal computer. Presenters share documents (ex. PowerPoint) and applications via their computers. Webinars are often interactive and may include two-way audio and real-time instant messaging, allowing presenters and participants to discuss information as it is presented.

Upcoming Webinar

Preventing Workplace Violence

Wednesday, December 4
10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

The threat of violence is an unfortunate reality in today’s workplaces. In 2017, more than 5,000 workplace fatalities occurred in the U.S., 458 of which were the result of intentional injuries caused by another person.

Please join us on December 4 at 10 a.m. for a one-hour webinar to learn what local government leaders can do to address workplace violence.

SCAC Risk Managers, John Henderson and Van Henson, will help county leaders learn how to assess their workplaces and take appropriate precautions to minimize potential incidents.  Webinar topics will include defining workplace violence, identifying potential exposures, and taking steps to secure and protect employees. In addition, a self-audit tool that counties can use to determine how their risk management programs measure up to best practices will be discussed.

This webinar is intended for all county leaders, including county council members, administrators, department managers, and risk managers.  County officials may wish to gather to view the webinar as a group. The group viewing location should have a hardwired internet connection with access to the webinar confirmation email, a laptop, an LCD projector, and audio. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Handouts will be sent to the registration email prior to the webinar. The webinar will be recorded and made available for later viewing on the SCAC website.

If you have any questions concerning the webinar, please contact Susan Turkopuls
