Notice of Funding Available for FY20

The South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) is pleased to announce the availability of $25 million in competitive grants for the program year that begins July 1, 2019.

The RIA was created for the purpose of assisting qualified infrastructure projects that improve water, waste water and storm water drainage facilities to address public health and regulatory standards or build capacity to support economic and employment opportunities. This financial assistance is available to local governments and public utilities statewide. Funds are being made available through two program categories: Basic Infrastructure and Economic Infrastructure

The application due dates are: September 9, 2019 and March 16, 2020.

Grant Application Workshop

To assist potential applicants in applying for funds, a Grant Application Workshop is planned for next Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Midlands Technical College, Northeast Campus in Columbia. The workshop is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Topics will include: how to apply for funds, eligible applicants and activities, grant amounts and match requirements, as well as other infrastructure resources.
