Senate Bills

 

S. 556 (Sen. Verdin) – Provides for a tax credit for renewable natural gas.

S. 575 (Sen. Goldfinch) – Defines "climatological" and related terms in building codes, ensures regulations align with these codes, and requires the South Carolina Building Codes Council to grant modifications for variations based on physical or climatological conditions when specific criteria are met.

S. 582 (Sens. Massey, Alexander and Rice) – Provides for a constitutional amendment that states only U.S. citizens 18 and older who are properly registered, may vote.

S. 584 (Sen. Devine) – Enacts the "CROWN Act," which makes it illegal to discriminate against individuals based on traits associated with race, color, or national origin. It prohibits employers from such discrimination and bans discriminatory practices in housing and public accommodations. Additionally, public and charter schools cannot implement policies that discriminate against students based on these characteristics.

S. 585 (Sens. Tedder and Adams) – The "Safeguarding American Families Everywhere (SAFE) Act" requires motor vehicle registration applications to allow applicants to voluntarily indicate if they or their family members have certain disabilities or disorders and mandates the Department of Motor Vehicles to include the designation "safe" in their vehicle records.
