Program Offers Counties Assistance Understanding New Energy Law

The Carolinas Development Assistance and Siting Hub (C-DASH) program offers support to local governments in the Carolinas with education and technical assistance on solar and wind energy siting and permitting.

The C-DASH team is available to help counties understand the recent South Carolina Energy Security Act (S.3309), which details design and development standards for solar energy systems over 13 acres in counties without their own ordinance.

The team can explain solar decommissioning requirements laid out in SC Code of Regulations 61-107.20.  C-DASH can help counties that don't have their own renewable energy ordinances, too.

The NC Clean Energy Technology Center leads the program in collaboration with partners from across the region, including the NC Cooperative Extension, Center for Energy Education, Southeastern Wind Coalition, and the SC Energy Office.
