County Council Coalition and Institute of Government for County Officials 

The County Council Coalition will review the draft policy positions by the Association’s four policy steering committees (County Government and Intergovernmental Relations; Land Use, Natural Resources, and Transportation; Public Safety, Corrections, and Judicial; and Revenue, Finance, and Economic Development). Input given at the Coalition meeting will be incorporated into the position papers for review by the steering committees when they meet again in November. These recommendations will be presented at the Legislative Conference for action by the Legislative Committee. The positions adopted by the Legislative Committee will become SCAC’s official policy positions.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. Please see the link below for a tentative agenda. A short business session will also be held so that officers for 2014-2015 can be elected. The meeting includes a luncheon.

Institute of Government:

The Institute of Government for County Officials will be held the day before the Coalition meeting (Thursday, October 16). Please see the link below for information on courses offered.

Register Now for the S.C. Local Government Attorneys' Institute

The SCAC is pleased to conduct the S.C. Local Government Attorneys' Institute on Friday, November 21, 2014. The Institute will be held at the Double Tree Hotel on Bush River Road at I-20. The seminar is expected to provide 1.0 hour of the new Substance Abuse/Mental Health requirement as part of 2.0 hours of ethics credit (L.E.P.R.) for a total of 6.0 MCLE hours. The registration fee is $90.00 per person and includes lunch. If you have any questions, contact Kent Lesesne at SCAC.
