Two-Day Grant Writing Workshop in Spartanburg

Grant Writing USA and the Spartanburg Police Department will present a two-day grant writing workshop June 27-28, 2024.

This training is for beginning and experienced grant seekers across all disciplines. Attendees will learn how to find the funding sources and write winning grant proposals. 

Tuition is $495; however, South Carolina Association of Counties members and their staff will receive a $30 discount with the code "ASSN". Pricing includes two days of instruction, workbook, and access to the Alumni Forum with tools, helpful discussions and sample grant proposals.

Planning for Retirement Workshop

The South Carolina Chapter of the American Public Works Association will host a special Planning for Retirement: Making the Most of Your Options session during its annual conference June 14 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The workshop will be a comprehensive overview for retirement planning and helpful to those local government employees just starting out, in the middle of careers and nearing retirement. Speakers include representatives from the South Carolina Public Employees Benefit Authority, Deferred Compensation program, Social Security Administration, and a private investment firm. 

When: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 14

Where: Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St., Columbia

Vector Control for Environmental Health Professionals - Free Training

Environmental health professionals are on the frontline of helping individuals, institutions, and communities reduce threats from mosquitoes, ticks, and other vectors. This training—Vector Control for Environmental Health Professionals—emphasizes the use of integrated pest management to address public health pests and vectors that spread pathogens, including Zika virus and others. The training offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The training includes 11 courses. Take all of them or pick and choose (the first three are required, then take courses in any order):
