Legal & Ethical Considerations for Managing Public Meetings – Part 1
Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Renewed citizen and press attention at meetings has brought a new focus on how local government bodies conduct the public’s business. SCAC will host a 2-part webinar series that will discuss the importance of the rules governing public meetings, and the role of the members of each public body. In part I of the series we will discuss the basics of rules and procedures, as well as the legal and ethical issues for members. The target audience for this webinar series is elected county council members, as well as appointed members of county boards and commissions.
County officials may wish to gather to view the webinar as a group. The group viewing location should have a hardwired internet connection with access to the webinar confirmation email, a laptop, an LCD projector, and audio.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Handouts will be sent to the registration email prior to the webinar. The webinar will be recorded and made available for later viewing on the SCAC website.
