The South Carolina Association of Counties will hold its 39th Annual Conference for county officials August 2-5, 2007 at the Hilton Head Marriott Beach & Golf Resort on Hilton Head Island. Classes for the Institute of Government will be held August 2-3. View the "Program At-A-Glance"
Registration The registration fee for the annual conference covers the cost of coffee breaks, receptions, and the 2007 Annual Banquet for delegates and their spouses. Registration for a county delegate is $345.00 until July 20; after that date and on-site, the fee is $370.00. There is no additional charge for a spouse or guest to attend the annual banquet. Tickets must be purchased for children who want to attend the annual banquet with their parents. These tickets will be sold at the registration desk at actual cost, if available.

Betty T. Roper Elected Women Officials Luncheon All elected women officials are invited to attend and participate in the Elected Women Officials Luncheon on Friday, August 3. The registration fee for this event is $35.00 per person. There will be no on-site registration and no refunds after July 20.
Institute of Government The South Carolina Association of Counties -- in cooperation with the Center for Governmental Services of the Institute for Public Service and Policy Research, USC, and the Strom Thurmond Institute of Government, Clemson University -- will hold the Institute of Government for County Officials (Level I, Level II, and Advanced) on Wednesday, August 1, and Thursday, August 2, 2005.
Level II courses are open to county officials who have graduated from Level I or are within nine hours of graduating from Level I.
Each course is three credit hours. Credits for courses are valid for four years. To receive a certificate for Level I, a person must complete 27 hours of instruction, including 18 hours of mandated topics and 9 hours of elective topics. To receive a certificate for Level II, a person must receive 18 hours of instruction in Level II topics. There is no certificate program for the Advanced Level.
