Institute of Government
The South Carolina Association of Counties—in cooperation with the Center for Governmental Services of the Institute for Public Service and Policy Research, USC, and the Strom Thurmond Institute of Government, Clemson University—will hold the Institute of Government for County Officials (Level I, Level II and Advanced) on Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30, 2009.
The fee for each Institute course is $50 until Friday, July 17. After that date and for on-site registration, the fee is $55 per course.
Wednesday, July 29
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Level I: Legal Issues in County Government (R)
- Advanced: Understanding Your Leadership Style (limited to 25 participants)
2 – 5 p.m.
- Level I: Ethics in Public Service (R)*

Thursday, July 30
9 a.m. – Noon
- Level I: Orientation to County Government II (R)
- Level I: Building Effective Intergovernmental Relations (E)
- Level II: The Property Taxation Process

(E) Elective Course for Level I
* Approved for three hours of continuing education credit for Planning/Zoning officials and employees.
