Lexington County is
accepting applications for a Procurement Manager who will be
responsible for a variety of supervisory and complex administrative
and purchasing duties.
Starting Salary: $53,823
Job Duties
Develops, coordinates, implements
and supervises all procurement activities and functions for the
county. Oversees procurement of all goods, services, materials,
supplies, equipment and construction. Develops procurement
objectives, policies and procedures. Ensures all procurement
decisions are made in accordance with acceptable standards of
performance and meet all legal requirements set forth by the County
Ordinance, policies and procedures. Provides supervision of all
procurement personnel. Employee must also exercise tact and courtesy
in frequent contact with vendors and the general public. Reports to
the Finance Director.
Education and Training
Requires a bachelor's degree in
business administration, buying or a related field with 6-9 years of
responsible experience in procurement, preferably for a governmental
agency, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
which provides the required combination of skills, knowledge and
abilities.
