Changes to the Training and
Certification Program
The State Election Commission announced
several changes to
its Training and Certification Program at SCARE's Mid-Year
Conference.
The first change concerns attaining the yearly
requirement after certification has been achieved. Attending
SCARE's Annual Legislative Conference will fulfill this yearly requirement
after a member achieves certification. If a certified
member attends an Election Readiness class, this will also
fulfill the yearly requirement.
The State Election Commission will continue to offer classes
to members who are not certified at SCARE's conference; however,
attending the conference will not count as a
credited class for members who are not certified.
The personal report that is sent after each training
session has also changed. Instead of indicating that a member is
certified, the report will indicate whether all of the
course work towards certification has been completed, and if a
certificate has been issued. Certificates will be presented
during the graduation ceremony at SCARE's Legislative
Conference.
Please share this information with all Board/Commission
members and office staff. If you have questions, comments or
concerns about these changes, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
